Family

LOVE you guys to the moon and back!!!!!

Today I felt really bad because I felt homesick. My mom was in San Antonio this weekend visiting her family and it made me miss them. Tonight was my little brother's last basketball game of the season and I have missed getting to see him play the last month. My favorite night to go to church is Saturday at RHCC and I miss hearing my dad preach. I am really homesick for the people back home in Fort Worth because they make me feel welcome and wanted. And I feel like I can be my honest self around them. This feeling just hit me really hard. Home is where I would rather be more than anything right now!

Lost Socks

Why is that every time I do laundry I lose at least one of my socks in the dryer. Come on where does it go!!!?

Wipe out

So here is a story proving that I for sure am clumsy. On Wednesday a few of my suite mates were going running and I tagged along. We were going around the campus because first of all its harder and because it is less boring than running around the track. So we were going to walk the up hills and run the rest. When we got past the Law school it started being all down hill for like a mile so we started running. I was out in front but I realized that I was a lot further ahead so I tried to slow down but as I tried to do so my foot went off the sidewalk and my ankle turned and I ate it on the pavement really really hard. I had this huge scrape on my knee and we sort of laughed it off because it was so unexpected. When we got to the TAC I looked down and there was blood running down my shin. It hurt so bad but I couldn't let them know that so I just played it off. They kept wanting me to stop but it felt better running actually. So now I have this huge raspberry on my knee and it is still swollen. So you probably should not run so fast down the CCB hill! HA!

RAIN

It rained this weekend for the first time in Malibu since like first semester freshman year. It was great. It was soo foggy and chilly. It reminded me of being back in Texas and having seasons. Oh, the retreat was excellent too!

90 Degree Sunday

Today was such a beautiful day. I got up late and got ready for church. I still haven't gotten used to the church on campus but the people there are super nice. It is a great community. After church some of my friends invited me to "Family Circles", where we go to a faculty member's home and have lunch. The people who's house we went to were very sweet and hospitable. The view from there balcony on Drescher was gorgeous. It was pretty windy today but not like last week, it was calm compared to that and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. I love long relaxing Sundays even if its a little warm. I am blessed to live in one of the prettiest places in this wonderful country.

Listening

I know this is kind of far fetched but I thought about this while watching this video a couple weeks ago. (Here is the link to the video because I couldn't figure out how to get the video on here by itself)

I realized after watching this video that we at times are like Harry the little boy who is sticking is finger in his little brother's mouth. We do what we want because we are selfish. And because when we do something we know is wrong we think it is fun so we keep doing it believing that nothing bad will happen. But as we see when Harry put his finger in Charlie's mouth the second time Charlie bit down harder and it hurt really bad. We do that in life we keep hurting ourselves and in the end are punished more than we could ever imagine. The Devil tempts us and wants us to mess up and we will if we listen to what the world tells us to do. But God has better plans for us, plans to prosper us if we only listen to his voice. Remember Jeremiah 29:11
